KARACHI KINGS SEASON 3 – The Home Stretch

Saturday 17^thMarch, 2018: The Karachi Kings have truly become a force to reckon with. Defying all odds, the team shows more zeal and vigor to win, fighting till the last ball as the series progresses. Without a doubt, the addition of Shahid Afridi and captain ship of Imad Wasim has had a positive impact.

With some of the most memorable performances, the team made strides in all areas of the game. Afridi had outstanding stats in nearly every match. The batting lineup has been impressive, heavy hitters Colin Ingram, Ravi Bopara, Joe Denly, Shahid Afridi and Babar Azam ranked at the top of the list. The team also scored the highest total in the series. With electrifying fielding, Afridi, Denly and Imad taking close to impossible catches. Imad’s catch resulted in an injury taking him out of the game for a few matches, he is replaced by Eoin Morgan as captain for the time being. The match ended with a nail-biting finish in the climactic super over. Despite a few losses the Karachi Kings roared back, clenching the second position in the rankings. The support for Karachi Kings has been tremendous throughout, the fans along with superstars and celebrities of the industry fueled the team every step of the way. The Kings will face Islamabad in the qualifier match on 18^th of March. International players Joe Denly, Colin Ingram, Ravi Bopara, Lendl Simmons, Tymal Mills and David Wiese are ready to travel to Pakistan to compete in the final spell of matches.

Speaking about the team performance, Mr. Salman Iqbal – owner Karachi Kings said ‘It makes us proud to watch our team give their best, Afridi, Ingram, Babar and Imad as captain have truly made a difference. KARACHI KINGS SEASON 3 – TEAM AND ANTHEM LAUNCH

[Saturday 17th February 2018:] Plant your feet, stand your ground and let your voices soar. The Karachi Kings are ready for a sensational new round of cricket in the HBL-PSL Season 3. With the start of the league only days away the Karachi Kings have their sights on the ultimate prize.

With the different approach to the launch this year, the biggest team of the PSL, Karachi Kings launch event was held in the biggest game show of Pakistan, Jeeto Pakistan, with Fahad Mustafa along with Waseem Badami in a special episode of the show. In an impromptu meet and greet today before the launch event, members of the team and the management spent time with their supports and sponsors for the upcoming season. Among the players present at the event were President of the team and star all-rounder Shahid Afridi, Captain Imad Wasim, Babar Azam, Usman Khan, Osama Mir, Tabish Khan, Hasan Mohsin, Khurram Manzoor, Mohammad Rizwan, Mushtaq Khloro, Saifullah Bangash, Mohammad Taha, Mohammad Irfan and of course international cricketer Ravi Bopara.

In spectacular Jeeto Pakistan fashion, Fahad Mustafa engaged the crowd as well as the team members in his energetic style, encouraging them to take part in the games and festivities. The event also included the official launch of the Karachi Kings anthem, performed by Shehzad Roy.

The event was also attended by celebrities as well such as Faisal Qureshi, Humayun Saeed and Sanam Baloch. Also present at the event were Mr. Aqeel Karim Dhedhi – Chairman, The Arkadians, Brig. Mujtaba – Head of Corporate Communication, Fauji Foundation, and Mr. Tariq Wasi – CEO, Karachi Kings along with Team Director Mr. Rashid Latif.

Karachi Kings brings Saima Group Karachi Ke Shehzade Tournament 2017

[Karachi – Thursday, 6th July, 2017]: The past few months have been filled with various exciting activities for the Karachi Kings. After a vibrant second season of the HBL –PSL, the Khiladi Ki Khoj talent hunt being conducted by the Karachi Kings has completed its second round of selections. The shortlisted athletes will now be playing in the Saima Group Karachi Ke Shehzade Tournament 2017. At its core, the vision and purpose of the Karachi Kings has always been to create a platform which can nurture Pakistani cricket on a national and international level.

A platform where new players would get a chance to hone their skills, in-turn gaining the experience and confidence needed to perform in greater international arenas. With this mission in mind, the Karachi Kings has launched Saima Group Karachi Ke Shehzade Tournament 2017. A series of matches featuring the finest local athletes that Pakistan has to offer. Speaking about the tournament, a very enthusiastic Mr. Salman Iqbal – owner Karachi Kings said ‘The Karachi Kings are a family, and families always strive to support one another to achieve greatness as one, benefiting the game and Pakistan alike. As promised, with the initiative of Saima Group Karachi Ke Shehzade Tournament 2017, the Karachi Kings with the support of our sponsors aim to bring the next generation of cricket heroes into the light. A group of highly skilled and trained sportsmen, who will make Pakistan proud in the coming years.’ The Saima Group Karachi Ke Shehzade Tournament 2017, which will be commencing from the 9th of July and conclude on the 16th, will be held at Naya Nazimabad Karachi.

The tournament will comprise of 5 teams, each supported by renowned celebrity ambassadors Humayun Saeed, Waseem Badami, Kashif Abbasi, Faysal Qureshi and Iqrar ul Hassan at their helm. The best players identified in this tournament will further be moved on to Karachi Kings – B Team which will serve as the selection pool for young entrants for the main squad of Karachi Kings. ARY FILM FESTIVAL 2017 CLOSES WITH A BANG IN KARACHI

[Karachi, May 7th, 2017]: ARY Digital Network set forth the 1st ARY Film Festival which ended on 7th of May, 2017 with a star-studded closing night hosted by the multitalented Faysal Qureshi and the beautiful Madiha Imam.

The event was attended by the top celebrities and personalities of the media and film industry. Amazing performances by Sheema Kirmani, Sanam Marvi and Hamza Qawwal along with a stand-up comedy act by the social media star Danish Ali.

The 3 day festival screened 33 films, which were shortlisted from around 400 entries received from all over the world. The jury included local and international award winning filmmakers, writers and media personalities such as Anwar Maqsood, Khalil Nanitalwala, Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, Marilyn Agrelo, Ram Kishore Parcha, John Gann, Andy Merkin, Jack McDonald and Amna Khan. The festival also came up with special screenings of internationally acclaimed films such as Maheen Zia’s ‘Lyari Notes’, ‘Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velazquez Story’ contributed by the American Film Showcase and Anjum Shehzad’s ‘Mah e Mir’. Additionally, Academy award winner Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy’s ‘Song of Lahore’ was also premiered at the festival.

Award for Best Story Feature Film was given to ‘Choora Ek Pratha’ and Best Short Film (Silver Category) to ‘Amrita & I’, both were screened in collaboration with Delhi International Film Festival. Seraj us Salikin won the award for Best Short Documentary for his film ‘Masters of the Sky’; whereas award for Best Director Short Documentary goes to Ali Ijaz for ‘Pangolins in Peril’. ‘In Search of America’ won the award for Best Short Film (Gold Category); Syed Fazal Hussain won the award of Best Actor (Short Film) for ‘Dil Tau Bacha Hai’. Best Documentary Feature award was given to ‘K2 & The Invisible Footmen’ and Maheen Zia’s ‘Lyari Notes’ won the Red Category Excellence in Documentary Feature. Purple Category Excellence in Documentary Feature was given to Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy for her film ‘Song of Lahore’. Anjum Shehzad’s ‘Mah e Mir’ won the award for Best Film – Feature.

Mr. Salman Iqbal, President & Founder, ARY Digital Network, in his message about the festival said “It has been our primary objective since the establishment of ARY Films to develop and foster the film industry in Pakistan. We have now embarked on yet another journey with the first ARY Film Festival, whereby we will provide a break to new and creative filmmakers from Pakistan and around the world to come showcase their talent and get known for their efforts. This is our first year for the festival and we intend to make it bigger and better in the years to come”.

Presented by Italiano and powered by Rooh Afza, the ARY Film Festival did special collaborations with American Film Showcase and Delhi International Film Festival. It was held from 4th to 6th May 2017 at the Cinepax Cinemas, Ocean Mall Karachi.
Karachi Kings – PSL Season 2 Team Launch: Dhan Dhana Dhan Hoga Re

Karachi – 3rd February, 2017: The Karachi Kings are back with a renewed zeal and vigor. As one of the five cricketing franchises participating in the Pakistan Super League T20, the team is the most loved and supported team in the league. The Karachi Kings franchise is proudly owned by Mr. Salman Iqbal who is also the Founder and President of ARY Digital Network. The team was officially launched for the first season of the PSL at a roaring mega event held at the National Stadium Karachi in Jan 2016, where the players and management were introduced to 30,000 plus jubilant fans who attended the venue.

For the second season of the PSL, the Karachi Kings are louder and stronger. The team launch conducted today at the National Stadium Karachi lived up to its promise with a mesmerizing spectacle of the city’s love and dedication towards their favorite team and game. The deafening roar of the fans will surely uplift the spirit of cricket in Pakistan. The team lineup was present at the event, with returning players as well as new inductees, including Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Amir, Imad Waseem, Sohail Khan,Shazaib Hassan, Saifullah Bungush, Babar Azam, Khurram Manzoor, Kashif Bhatti, Abrar Ahmed, Usama Mir, Rahat Ali, Amad Alam and Hasan Mohsin. Team Director Rashid Latif, CEO Karachi Kings Tariq Wasi, VP Operations Navaid Rasheed and Head of Marketing Shehzad Hassan Khan were also present at the event.

During the month of Ramazan the Karachi Kings will be holding a cricket tournament featuring local players. Besides this a special tournament will be held to select the best of the 60 players from the trials for future inclusion for Karachi Kings B Team.
